Arranging visual elements
Graphic design is the craft of arranging text, images, and other visual elements to communicate a message or create a particular effect.
The field encompasses logos, advertisements, book layouts, websites, packaging, and signage.
A graphic designer makes choices about typography, color, spacing, and composition: She studied graphic design in college.
The term distinguishes visual communication work from other design disciplines like industrial or interior design.
