interface
Where systems meet
An interface is where two systems or entities meet and interact.
In computing, it's the point of contact between user and machine—a graphical interface presents visual elements to click; a command-line interface accepts typed commands.
More broadly, interface describes any boundary where different things connect: the interface between science and policy.
As a verb, to interface is to interact or connect: We need to interface with the marketing team.
The verb sounds corporate and is often mocked as jargon.
