font

Text character design

A font is a complete set of type in one size and style—the characters a printer or computer uses to render text.

In digital contexts, font and typeface blur together, though purists distinguish them: a typeface is the design (Helvetica), while a font is a specific instance (Helvetica Bold 12pt).

Choose a font that's easy to read.

Separately, a font is a basin in a church holding water for baptism.
