geometry
Study of shapes
Geometry is the branch of mathematics concerned with shapes, sizes, positions, and the properties of space.
It deals with points, lines, angles, surfaces, and solids—from simple triangles to complex three-dimensional forms.
Euclidean geometry covers the flat planes taught in school; other geometries describe curved spaces.
The word extends to spatial arrangements generally: the geometry of a room, the geometry of a face.
