GPS
Orbital location finder
GPS stands for Global Positioning System, a satellite-based navigation technology that determines precise location anywhere on Earth.
Originally developed for military use, GPS now guides everything from smartphones to aircraft.
The term often refers to any navigation device using this system: The GPS says to turn left, I plugged the address into my GPS.
