projection
Estimate of future
Projection is the act of throwing, casting, or propelling something outward or forward.
A projection can be something that sticks out from a surface, like a rocky projection from a cliff face.
In psychology, projection means attributing your own feelings or motives to someone else: He accused her of jealousy, but it was pure projection.
The word also covers the display of images on a screen, as well as estimates or forecasts based on current data: Budget projections for next quarter look grim.
