scale drawing
Miniature architectural plan
A scale drawing is a diagram or illustration where all dimensions are proportionally reduced or enlarged by a consistent ratio.
Architects use scale drawings to represent buildings on paper; mapmakers use them to show terrain.
The scale—expressed as a ratio like 1:100 or a statement like one inch equals one mile—tells you how measurements in the drawing correspond to actual distances.
