continuity
Sustained logical coherence
Continuity is unbroken connection or consistency over time.
A story has continuity when its details remain consistent across scenes; a business maintains continuity when operations persist despite changes in leadership.
In film and television, continuity refers to consistency in props, costumes, and settings between shots: The continuity error showed her glass full in one frame, empty in the next.
More abstractly, continuity suggests smooth persistence rather than abrupt change: There's remarkable continuity between her early and late work.
