longitude
Greenwich's angular reference
Longitude is the east-west position on Earth's surface, measured in degrees from the Prime Meridian at Greenwich, England.
Lines of longitude run from pole to pole, dividing the globe into 360 degrees: The ship's longitude was 45 degrees west.
Together with latitude, longitude pinpoints any location on the planet.
