voyage

Long ocean crossing

A voyage is a long journey, especially by water or through space: The voyage across the Atlantic took three weeks, the Voyager spacecraft's voyage to the outer planets.

The word carries more weight than trip—it suggests distance, duration, and often discovery or adventure.

A maiden voyage is a ship's first journey.

To voyage is to make such a journey, though the verb is literary and less common than the noun.
