epic
Larger than life
Genuine epics, that is, long poems about legendary heroes, such as The Iliad and The Odyssey, are not common.
Things characterized as epic are a dime a dozen and include any enjoyable or out of the ordinary phenomenon or experience: That sunset was epic!
Something of epic proportions is impressively large or grand.
Novels of great length with a historical setting are frequently called epics, especially by their publishers.
