sailor
Works aboard ships
A sailor is someone who works on a ship or boat, especially as a member of a crew.
The term applies to naval personnel and civilian seafarers alike: He spent twenty years as a merchant sailor.
Sailor also describes anyone who sails recreationally: She's an experienced sailor who races competitively.
A good or bad sailor refers to susceptibility to seasickness: I'm a terrible sailor—I get queasy on ferries.
