Ithaca

Wanderer's long-sought destination

Ithaca is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea, celebrated as the homeland of Odysseus in Homer's epics.

His ten-year journey home from Troy made Ithaca synonymous with longing for home and the end of a difficult voyage.

The name also belongs to a city in upstate New York, home to Cornell University: We drove up to Ithaca for the weekend.
