cinema
Where movies play
Cinema is the art and industry of making motion pictures, or a place where films are shown.
The term carries slightly more artistic or European connotations than "movies": French cinema, independent cinema.
In British English, cinema commonly means a movie theater: Let's go to the cinema tonight.
The adjective cinematic describes qualities characteristic of film.
