arrival

Opposite of departure

Arrival is the act of reaching a destination or the moment when someone or something appears: We awaited their arrival at the airport.

It extends to abstract appearances—the arrival of spring, the arrival of a new era.

A new arrival is someone who has just shown up or, commonly, a newborn baby.
