condyle

Joint's rounded end

A condyle is a rounded projection at the end of a bone, forming part of a joint where it articulates with another bone.

The knuckles are condyles, as are the rounded ends of the thighbone that meet the shinbone at the knee.

The condyle of the jaw allows the mouth to open and close.
