globe
Spherical representation of landmasses
A globe is a sphere, especially one representing the Earth with its continents and oceans mapped onto the surface.
Classrooms and offices display globes as reference objects and décor.
The globe means the Earth itself: travelers who've circled the globe, known around the globe.
Globe extends to any spherical object: a snow globe, a glass globe covering a light bulb.
To globe is to form into a sphere, though this use is rare. (Capitalized Globe refers to the famous Shakespearean theater.)
