diorama
Shoebox museum project
A diorama is a three-dimensional miniature scene, typically displayed in a box or case with a painted background.
Museum dioramas show animals in recreated habitats or historical moments frozen in time.
Children build dioramas for school projects: She made a diorama of the rainforest in a shoebox.
The word sometimes describes any elaborate miniature display.
