unconscious
Not aware currently
Unconscious describes someone who has lost awareness and cannot be roused—from injury, anesthesia, or deep sleep: She was knocked unconscious by the fall.
It also means unaware or unintentional: He was unconscious of the effect his words had.
In psychology, the unconscious is the part of the mind containing thoughts, memories, and desires outside conscious awareness—what Freud made central to his theories.
As an adjective, unconscious describes mental processes operating below awareness: unconscious bias, unconscious motivations.
