IMAX
Giant screen format
IMAX is a film format and projection system using much larger frames than standard cinema, creating images of exceptional size and clarity.
IMAX theaters feature massive curved screens, sometimes spanning entire walls or domes.
The format is associated with documentaries, nature films, and blockbuster releases: We saw the new superhero movie in IMAX.
The name derives from "image maximum."
