Conic describes anything relating to or shaped like a cone.

In mathematics, a conic section (or simply a conic) is a curve formed when a plane intersects a cone—ellipses, parabolas, hyperbolas, and circles are all conics.

The term appears in geometry, optics, and astronomy: conic projection, the conic path of a comet.
