projecting
Extending beyond surface
Projecting describes something that sticks out or extends beyond a surface: a projecting balcony, projecting rocks along the cliff face.
In psychology, projecting means attributing your own feelings or motives to someone else, usually unconsciously: He's projecting his insecurities onto you.
The word also covers displaying images on a screen or making your voice carry: projecting slides, projecting to the back row.
