oratory
Persuasive public address
Oratory is the art of formal public speaking, or skill in delivering speeches persuasively: His oratory moved the crowd to action.
The word often implies eloquence and rhetorical power.
An oratory is also a small chapel for private prayer, a separate sense from the same Latin root meaning "to speak" or "to pray."
