yachting
Wealthy sailors' pastime
Yachting is the activity of sailing or racing yachts—typically for recreation or sport rather than commercial purposes.
The term suggests leisure and often wealth, as yachts are expensive vessels: They spent summers yachting in the Mediterranean.
Yacht racing has been an Olympic sport since 1900.
