holiday
Time for celebration
The two main senses of holiday are a recurring occasion set aside for its traditional or religious significance (Easter holiday), and a vacation (holiday in the mountains).
The holiday season is the period that includes Christmas and New Year’s, and in the U.S., starts with Thanksgiving at the end of November.
