crew
Captain's working team
A crew is a group of people cooperating on a common task or goal (cleanup crew, flight crew).
In entertainment, the crew are people involved in a production who are not part of the cast (lighting crew, sound crew).
Less precisely, crew may designate any group of people to characterize them (strange crew, crew of buddies).
Crew is also the sport of rowing.
The relatively infrequent verb crew means to be a member of a working crew: He crewed on the sailboat.
In archaic use, crew is the past tense of crow.
