Third sailing pole
A mizzenmast is the third mast from the bow on a ship with three or more masts, or the smaller rear mast on a two-masted vessel like a ketch or yawl.
It sits aft of the mainmast and carries the mizzen sail.
The storm snapped the mizzenmast clean off.
