brigantine

Two-masted sailing ship

A brigantine is a two-masted sailing vessel with a fully square-rigged foremast and a fore-and-aft rigged mainmast.

Smaller and more maneuverable than full-rigged ships, brigantines were favored by merchants and pirates alike from the 17th through 19th centuries.

The term sometimes loosely describes any small, fast sailing ship.
