Badge holder's loop
A lanyard is a cord worn around the neck or wrist to hold something—an ID badge, keys, a whistle, a phone.
Originally a nautical term for short ropes used to secure rigging or weapons, lanyards now appear most often at conferences, schools, and workplaces: Everyone at the convention wore lanyards with their name tags.
