Third ship pole
The mizzen-mast is the third mast from the bow on a ship with three or more masts, typically the rearmost and often the shortest.
On a two-masted vessel where the rear mast is shorter, that mast is also called the mizzen.
The mizzen-mast carries the mizzen sail: The storm snapped the mizzen-mast clean off.
