filmstrip

Classroom projection medium

A filmstrip is a length of film containing a sequence of still images, designed to be projected one frame at a time.

Before digital technology, filmstrips were common educational tools in schools, often synchronized with audio recordings: The teacher threaded the filmstrip into the projector.

The format is now largely obsolete.
