succession
One after another
Succession is a sequence of things following one after another: a succession of bad decisions, a succession of rainy days.
It also means the process of inheriting a position or title: the line of succession to the throne, a succession crisis.
In business, succession planning prepares for leadership transitions.
The verb is succeed, which also means to achieve success—two different words that merged in English.
