keynote

Conference's main speech

A keynote is the central or defining element of something—the main idea around which everything else is organized.

In music, it's the tonic note of a scale.

A keynote speech or keynote address opens a conference and sets its theme; the person delivering it is the keynote speaker, often shortened to just the keynote: She's the keynote at this year's summit.

As a verb, to keynote is to deliver such an address or to emphasize a central theme.
