relic

Vestige from antiquity

A relic is something that survives from an earlier time.

Religious relics are physical remains of saints or objects associated with them, venerated by the faithful: a relic of the True Cross.

More broadly, relics are artifacts from the past: relics of the Roman Empire.

The word often carries connotations of obsolescence—calling something a relic suggests it belongs to a bygone era: That flip phone is a relic.
