cassette tape
Rewindable audio cartridge
A cassette tape is a plastic cartridge containing magnetic tape wound between two spools, used for recording and playing audio.
Cassettes dominated portable music from the 1970s through the 1990s, before CDs and digital formats displaced them: I found a box of old cassette tapes in the attic.
Often shortened to cassette or tape.
