series
Things in order
A series is a number of similar things coming one after another.
Television shows with recurring characters air in series—seasons of episodes, often simply called a series.
In mathematics, a series is a sequence of terms following a rule.
A series of unfortunate events suggests one thing after another, connected by theme or consequence.
The word is both singular and plural: one series, three series.
