Old but desirable
Vintage originally describes wine from a particular year's grape harvest, and by extension, the year itself: a 1982 vintage.
The word now applies broadly to items from an earlier era, especially clothing, furniture, or cars prized for their age and quality: vintage dresses, a vintage Mustang.
As an adjective, vintage suggests classic excellence or typicality: vintage Beatles, vintage stupidity.
The term usually implies desirability—old enough to be interesting, not so old as to be antique.
