focus
Direct your attention
The original noun meaning of focus—a point at which rays converge or concentrate—informs all of its other meanings.
The most common use of focus today is to indicate a thing receiving the most attention or effort: A small farm in Kansas is now the focus of the recent salmonella outbreak.
The common term focus group is a group assembled for the purpose of gathering opinions on a topic or product.
When you focus a camera, you adjust the lens in order to capture a sharp image.
When you focus your attention, you put it on something and try to minimize distractions.
