35mm

Standard camera film

35mm refers to the width of film stock measuring 35 millimeters across, the dominant format for motion pictures and still photography throughout the 20th century.

In cinema, a 35mm print means traditional celluloid rather than digital projection.

In photography, 35mm became synonymous with compact cameras using this film size: She prefers shooting 35mm to digital.

The format remains popular among enthusiasts who value its distinctive grain and tonal qualities.
