canoe
Long narrow watercraft
A canoe is a narrow, lightweight boat pointed at both ends, propelled by paddling.
Traditional canoes were made from bark, wood, or animal skins; modern ones are typically fiberglass or aluminum.
Unlike kayaks, canoes are open-topped and paddled with a single-bladed paddle while kneeling or sitting on a raised seat.
We paddled the canoe across the lake.
To canoe is to travel by canoe: They canoed down the river.
