gauges
Dashboard dial array
Gauges are instruments that measure or display quantities—fuel gauges, pressure gauges, temperature gauges.
The word also refers to standard measurements or dimensions: the gauge of wire indicates its thickness, the gauge of a shotgun its bore diameter, and railroad gauge is the distance between rails.
To gauge something is to measure or estimate it: It's hard to gauge public opinion.
The spelling gage appears in some technical contexts.
