trolley

Wheeled transport vehicle

A trolley is a wheeled vehicle or conveyance of various kinds.

In American English, it usually means a streetcar—an electric rail vehicle running on tracks through city streets: We took the trolley downtown.

In British English, a trolley is a wheeled cart, especially for shopping or serving food: She pushed the trolley down the aisle.

A trolley can also be the grooved wheel that runs along an overhead wire to collect current for an electric vehicle.

To be off one's trolley (British) is to be crazy.
