A sleeper is one who sleeps, especially in a particular way: (sound sleeper, light sleeper).
Other things called sleepers include a beam to which rails are attached for trains to travel on; and a railcar that has beds, or an overnight train with these.
A sleeper describes a sudden success that is not expected, and a spy whose work is not suspected by others where he or she lives.
A sleeper sofa or sleeper couch converts to a bed when it is unfolded.
