voltmeter

Electrical pressure reader

A voltmeter is an instrument that measures electrical potential difference between two points in a circuit, displayed in volts.

Voltmeters are connected in parallel with the component being measured, unlike ammeters which measure current flow.

Digital multimeters have largely replaced standalone voltmeters for most applications.
