Raw data is information in its original, unprocessed state—collected but not yet organized, analyzed, or interpreted.
Survey responses before tabulation, sensor readings before calibration, or transaction logs before summarization are all raw data.
The term implies material that requires further work to become meaningful: We have the raw data, but someone needs to make sense of it.
