millibar

Atmospheric pressure measure

A millibar is a unit of atmospheric pressure equal to one thousandth of a bar.

Meteorologists use millibars to measure and report barometric pressure: The hurricane's central pressure dropped to 940 millibars.

Standard sea-level pressure is about 1013 millibars.

The unit is gradually being replaced by hectopascals, which are numerically equivalent.
