switching
Exchanging one for another
Switching is the act of changing from one thing to another—switching channels, switching sides, switching jobs.
In BDSM, switching means alternating between dominant and submissive roles, and a switch is someone who enjoys both.
To switch can also mean to strike with a thin flexible rod (a switch), as in old-fashioned corporal punishment: Grandma threatened to switch our legs if we misbehaved.
