Third Reich
Hitler's German state
The Third Reich was Nazi Germany—the German state under Adolf Hitler's dictatorship from 1933 to 1945.
Reich means realm or empire in German; Nazi ideology counted the Holy Roman Empire as the first and the German Empire (1871–1918) as the second.
The term now evokes fascism, genocide, and totalitarianism: propaganda techniques borrowed from the Third Reich.
