Goebbels
Reich's chief liar
Goebbels refers to Joseph Goebbels (1897–1945), Nazi Germany's Minister of Propaganda, who orchestrated the regime's messaging and public manipulation.
His name has become shorthand for a propagandist who uses mass media to spread lies and manufacture consent: He's the Goebbels of that administration.
The association implies cynical, calculated deception in service of authoritarian power.
