Pearl Harbor
Hawaiian naval base
Pearl Harbor is a U.S. naval base in Hawaii, site of the surprise Japanese attack on December 7, 1941, that brought America into World War II.
The name has become shorthand for any devastating sneak attack: Cyber experts warn of a digital Pearl Harbor.
Roosevelt called it "a date which will live in infamy."
